Caixia Qi is a Professor of Chemistry in Yantai University and serves as the Director of Shandong Applied Research Center of Nanogold Technology (Au-SDARC). She is appointed as a Taishan Scholar of Shandong Province in 2011. She obtained her Ph D degree in Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics,Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1996, and later successively served at STA fellow in Osaka National Research Institute of Japan, Research Associate in Royal Military College of Canada and Visiting professor in Tokyo Metropolitan University. Besides basic and applied research in gold catalyst, professor Qi is also engaged in the industrial application of gold nanotechnology.

  She used to be principal investigator on a first research project sponsored by World Gold Council in China mainland and a member of Catalysis Technical Committee of Gold 2009 & Gold 2012. She has promoted and organized an open-end industry-academia-research platform, jointly initiated by Yantai University, Administration of Gold Management of Yantai City, Shandong Zhaojin Group Co. Ltd and Shandong University, for industrial application of gold which features regional advantages, development of new industrial application of gold and compliance of international standard.
